April[]

  • April 28: A journal describes a sighting of five Hybrids being attacked by Leapers. All the Leapers and a Hybrid are killed. The writer of the journal theorizes that there are now two types of Chimeras: military and feral.[1]

  • June 28: A fishing log describes the extent of the Chimeran terraformation process by describing thick ice on a river. They described the ice growing around Chimeran plants known as Blast Roots. The log notes that the ice is so thick that ice axes do not work and advises the use of guns.[2]

July[]

  • July 12: A human survivor witnessed a Widowmaker killing and devouring a Ravager.[3]

August[]

  • August 9: The events of Resistance 3 begin. More than 90% of the human population is killed or converted by the Chimera. The Chimera have begun using terraforming weapons to cool Earth's temperatures.
  • August 11:
    • Joseph Capelli and Dr. Malikov travel the Mississippi River before being stranded in St. Louis. They encounter the Remnants led by Charlie Tent.[7] Capelli helps the Remnants to steal a Chimeran power core to restore the Remnants' VTOL in exchange for transportation to New York.[8]
    • African resistance fighters killed more than 2,000 Chimera at Fort Lamy, Republic of Chad.[9]
  • Joseph Capelli and Dr. Malikov are dropped off at Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania after the Remnant VTOL came under attack by Chimeran dropships. Capelli assists the community of Mount Pleasant by eliminating a feral Chimera known as "Satan". Capelli and Malikov later resume their journey by train.[10]
  • Japanese resistance fighters attack a Chimeran Terraformer over Nagoya, Japan.[11]
  • Joseph Capelli and Dr. Malikov come under attack by the Wardens. Malikov is murdered by Mick Cutler, and Capelli is captured and taken to Graterford Prison.[12] Capelli is forced to fight Feral Chimera and Wardens in an arena before being freed by Herbert Sawicki. Working with Herbert, Capelli lured the Chimera to attack Graterford Prison before killing Mick. Capelli part ways with Herbert and resumed his journey.
  • The events of Resistance 3 end. With the help of the Remnants, Joseph Capelli closes the wormhole by crashing a Terraformer into the New York tower. The destruction of the New York tower returned Earth's temperatures to normal as human resistance groups mount a series of successful battles against the Chimera.[13]
