Subject: Operation: Iron Hand Successful
28-Jul-52
On July 25th, a member of Sentinel team Echo led a risky operation that successfully
rescued 73 citizens from Savannah, Georgia. Two days earlier the Chimera had hit
Georgia and Florida with a massive spire attack, prompting President McCullen to
declare the entire southeast coast a gray zone. The area was believed to have been lost
after the Chimera blackened the entire region with spinners. However, SRPA 12 in
Atlanta picked up a distress signal from survivors over ham radio. The citizens had
managed to take refuge from the spinners in the Telfair Museum. Sergeant Benjamin
Warner of Echo team volunteered to lead a convoy and two army units into gray
territory to find the survivors. Sergeant Warner was awarded the Bronze Star for his
bravery and initiative in the mission.
