Project Prometheus was a United States government-funded research on Gray Tech artifacts conducted by the Special Research Projects Administration.
History[]
Project Prometheus was officially founded on December 13, 1952 after then President Harvey McCullen authorized additional funding for Gray Tech research.[1] Under McCullen's orders, all ongoing studies of the Gray Tech components were classified above top secret.[1]
Center of Gray Tech research was taken place in SRPA 7, located in Boulder, Colorado before it was relocated to SRPA 11, in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, after a fatal experiment with the Gray Tech components caused the deaths of five members of the research staff on January 4, 1953.[2]
