Oscar Villamizar was a physician stationed in SRPA 3. On February 12, 1953, Dr. Villamizar and along with his colleagues Doctors Frederick Jean and Percy Kabeck discovered Cpl. Joseph Capelli in a torpid state. Villamizar and his colleagues tried to help Capelli. Villamizar attempted to administer first aid, but was immediately assaulted by Capelli in which Villamizar was thrown into a plate glass window. The doctors were saved from Capelli by the arrival of Sgt. Benjamin Warner.
Villamizar was left with several severe lacerations to his hands, forearms, and face; broken collar bone, a broken left knee, and a separated right shoulder.
