Orick is a small timber town in Humboldt County, California.
History[]
On July 23, 1952, Orick was occupied by the Chimera after Chimeran battleships launched a barrage of Spire missiles on the town.[1] The occupied town posed a threat to the nearby city of San Francisco in which the SRPA dispatched Specter Team to cleanse Orick of Chimeran forces during Operation Green Eagle.[1] Although SRPA succeeded in inflicting heavy casualties on the Chimera, Orick its surrounding area remained as a gray zone.[2]
During Daedalus's invasion of America on May 15, 1953, Sentinel team Echo damaged a Chimeran battleship in San Francisco and forced it to retreat and stall over Orick. Once SRPA and Echo Team arrived to Orick, the entire vicinity was heavily defended by Chimeran forces including Chameleons lurking in the redwood forests. Echo Team managed to bypass the defenses, boarded and destroyed the warship.[3]
Trivia[]
- Oddly though Orick had been spired a year before the events of Resistance 2, there are Cocoons scattered all over town. This is far longer than the ordinary time period for them to hatch into Grims. However these could be members of Bravo Company, as Spinners are seen in the area.
