After the Chimera were eradicated from Britain and the success of Operation Overstrike, the British military were deployed to mainland Europe while leaving a token defense force behind. The Chimera took advantage of this and launched a surprise attack on Axbridge and Bracknell in an attempt to divert British military advancement in Europe.
Axbridge was the site of a research base that studies Grey Tech and Chimeran nuclear reactor technology. Colonel Rachel Parker of British Intelligence urgently contacted SRPA for help in stopping the Chimera. In exchange for SRPA assistance, Parker agreed to provide detailed intelligence reports and research data concerning schematics of a reverse-engineered nuclear core to SRPA, which would be use to hasten the development of SRPA's advanced fission bomb. Specter Team was deployed to defending Axbridge.
After overwhelming impossible odds, Specter Team succeeded in containing the Chimera. Because of the Chimera's attention to attacking Axbridge their strategy of diverting British forces seem to have backfired, as many Chimeran command units were killed by Specter inside Axbridge. This left the Chimeran towers on mainland Europe poorly defended and open for attack for Allied forces.
Colonel Parker fulfilled her promises to SRPA and provided information on the Gray Tech recovered from the Chimeran towers in Bonn, Gerolstein, Paris, and Prague, including intel gathered by the mercenary James Grayson. The data revealed to corroborate Dr. Richard Feynman's theory that the Gray Tech had been left intentionally, as if it were a puzzle meant to be solve.
