Luxembourg is a small landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany.
History
Luxembourg was the center of the Military Defense Commission (MDC) created by the United European Defence in 1939, focusing on weapons research and development.[1] After the Chimeran War broke out in December 1949, Luxembourg one of the many European nations conquered by the Chimera. The human resistance group, the Maquis, established their headquarters in a hidden fortress in Luxembourg where some of Europe's refugees took shelter.
During Operation Overstrike on September 3, 1951, Maquis and British forces planned to launch their assault on Chimera-occupied Paris from Luxembourg. The Chimera discovered the Luxembourg stronghold's existence. After Chimeran Earth Movers failed to reach Luxembourg, the Chimera besieged the stronghold. The human forces managed to evacuate from Luxembourg to the Maquis' last remaining safe zone in Reims.[2]
