Luxembourg is a small landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany. The country was the center of the Military Defense Commission (MDC) created by the United European Defence in 1939, focusing on weapons research and development. The nation became one of the many European nations conquered by the Chimera.
Luxembourg contained one of the last Maquis' strongholds in Europe, where some of Europe's refugees took shelter. During Operation Overstrike in September 3rd, 1951, the Maquis stronghold was ultimately besieged and destroyed by the Chimera. Following the success of Overstrike, Luxembourg was among one of the many liberated Western European countries.
