History[]
In the Great War, Japan was part of the Entente. The war ended in October 1918 with a victory for the Allied forces. By the time of the Chimeran War, Japan was occupied by the Chimera. In 1957, Japanese resistance fighters engaged in a fierce battle inside a Chimeran Terraformer over the city of Nagoya. Thousands of Japanese were reportedly killed, but the Japanese vowed to fight to the last man.[1]
Trivia[]
- Even without the Great Depression, the rise political extremism and World War II, the Japanese Empire still exists, with Korea, Taiwan, South Sakhalin, Kwantung Leased Territory, and the South Pacific Mandate under Japanese rule. However, without the aforementioned events, Japan presumably did not pursue military adventurism in the 1930s.
- Japanese engineer Iwao Ryusaki was responsible for designing the IWAO-R Chaingun for Japanese combat planes.
- The Terraformer over Nagoya is the setting for the Resistance 3 multiplayer map Terraformer.
