Fort Anchorage was a United States military base located in Anchorage, Alaska. Constructed under the Roosevelt administration, at the time of its completion it was the largest U.S. military base in the world.[1]
History[]
Construction of Fort Anchorage began in April 1937 and was established in direct response to the threat of the Chimera, and its purpose was to defend against intrusion from Chimeran-occupied Russia.[1] It housed significant air and ground forces. Fort Anchorage was also a top-secret site for developing nuclear weapons in which was overseen by Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer.

On January 1, 1951 the Chimera successfully invaded Alaska from Russia. Through their technology to manipulate global weather, the Chimera succeeded in freezing large portions of the Bering Strait, creating an icy land bridge between North America and Asia for the first time in millions of years. Over this new route, Chimeran forces marched across and attacked Fort Anchorage. American personnel were caught off guard by the attack, in which nearly everyone were either killed or converted into Chimera.[2] The Chimera also gained the possession of a nuclear bomb.
The SRPA dispatched Sentinel Team Alpha to Fort Anchorage to reclaim the nuclear bomb. Alpha reached the base and discovered Dr. Oppenheimer, the sole survivor. They soon recovered the bomb before they ultimately detonated it to destroy the land bridge, and preventing the Chimera from invading North America. What remained of Fort Anchorage was subsequently destroyed when a Chimeran battleship plowed into the base.[3]
