The Advanced Auger-FS is a superior and modified version of the Auger-WS that appears in Resistance: Retribution. It was owned and made by Roland Mallery. James Grayson acquires it after he kills an infected Mallery.

Description

The bolts fired from the Auger-FS are larger and cause more damage. It deploys a red spherical shield that completely encircle the user and can deflect all incoming fire back toward the attackers. Over time the Auger recharges its secondary fire to generate another shield, thereby finding ammunition for the shield no longer an issue.

“	The Advanced Auger-FS is an upgraded version of the Auger-WS assault rifle. Press the R button to fire single bursts of radiation capable of tunnelling through solid matter. Hold the R button to fire multiple bursts. The targeting reticule will turn red when it locates valid targets, including hidden ones. Press the L button to deploy a spherical shield that reflects all enemy fire back toward the attacker. The shield remains active for several moments and will begin to flicker before its charge runs out.	”
